Sri Lanka, a tiny teardrop island just south of India, has always been high on our list of places to visit. With the Northern Hemisphere too cold until April to start our Trans American bicycle ride, it was the perfect opportunity to visit. 10 weeks and we still didn’t get to see it all! What an amazing place. Tropical beaches, incredible wildlife, and colonial heritage in the highlands. Add in 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites and you can see why we had an absolute ball. The icing on the cake was the incredible warmth and welcoming nature of the Sri Lankans themselves.
