In March 2018, Catch Our Travel Bug set off on a 10 day road trip in the Sultanate of Oman. After almost 3 months in the tropics we were looking forward to the dry, desert landscapes of this remarkable country.

    Oman, Mutrah Souq

    The Muttrah Souq is one of the oldest marketplaces in Oman dating back two hundred years. It is located adjacent to the harbor of Muscat

    This incredible mosque is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone and can cater to up to 20 000 worshippers at one time.

    Nizwa Fort, Oman

    Nizwa Fort is a powerful reminder of the town’s significance throughout Oman’s long history. The surrounding souq is a great place to haggle for souvenirs and enjoy a cold drink and delicious local cuisine.
