Campsites and Caravan Parks

Campgrounds – Phone ahead if you can as many Camping Grounds do not have tent sites, especially the big fancy ones.

Western Australia

Rockingham Holiday Village – Rockingham (2.5/5)

147 Dixon Rd, Rockingham, 6168, Ph.

Expensive at $38 per night. Facilities clean but camp kitchen only had cold water, a fridge and a microwave. It’s very noisy as it is close to the main road and the train line. Bikes have been stolen from this ground in the past so make sure you lock up well. Out of town (4km) and no shops or pubs nearby except for those on site. Guy makes Chinese takeaway in the evenings which we didn’t try.

Timber Tops – Mandurah (4/5)

147 Dixon Rd, Rockingham, 6168

Lovely site, close to town but still quiet. $20 for an unpowered site. Facilities clean and the Managers lovely. Mary and Phil locked our bikes away for the night so we didn’t have to worry. Mandurah has a bad reputation for bike theft so take special care.

Binningup Beach Caravan Park (4/5) Ph:(08) 9720 1057

31 Portland Dr, Binningup WA 6233

Nice quiet site. $28 for a powered site (no unpowered?). Facilities clean and being renovated by the new owners at the time. Close to shops where you can get a beer and basic provisions. You have to go up a very steep hill to reach Portland Road. Gas BBQ’s and fire pit available for use but didn’t seem to have kitchen facilities.

Bunbury Glades Caravan Park (5/5) Phone (08) 9721 3800

Blair St, South Bunbury WA 6230

Lovely flat grassed site. Clean facilities. BBQ area for use with seating, Microwave, kettle and toaster. Free wifi. Close to shopping centre and pub. Quite secure with big fence around and plenty of trees to secure your bike to.
